Professor Peacock contributes to crossover study investigating ventilation methods in prematurely born infants

The study ‘Crossover study of proportional assist versus assist control ventilation’ was published in the Archives of Disease in Childhood – Fetal and Neonatal Edition.

The randomised crossover study compared proportional assist ventilation (PAV) with assist control ventilation (ACV). The study rests suggest that ‘PAV compared with ACV may have physiological advantages for prematurely born infants who remain ventilated after the first week after birth.’
